The space itself was surprisingly roomy—more than I anticipated for a single room. With a lovely en suite shower and a cozy decor that exudes comfort, it was ideal for both relaxation and preparing for my early morning runs through the serene pathways along the Basingstoke Canal. The lodge's proximity to local attractions, including the thrilling Thorpe Park Resort, made it a convenient base for exploring. What truly stood out was the warmth of the host family, who genuinely went out of their way to make me feel at home.
